Wellington North Planning For Growth

A new sewage treatment plant in Arthur has been given the top priority in Wellington North.

Council reviewed 17 recommendations coming out of a developers forum held in the spring, and decided at a special meeting Thursday that of equal importance is adopting a community growth plan.

That plan would address an expected population jump, and define how the community wants to evolve as it adapts to the growth.

But Wellington North will not give a high priority to reviewing its development charges, despite the fact that local developers see it as the main barrier to investment.

Instead, the municipality will be publishing a development charges pamphlet which will explain the charges and how they are spent.
