O'Reilly Looking Forward to Hometown Heroes Charity Hockey Game

Buffalo Sabres star forward and Varna native Ryan O'Reilly says he's looking forward to Thursday's Hometown Heroes Charity Hockey Game in Goderich. Ryan and his brother Cal who plays with his brother in Buffalo, have been training every summer at the Y in Goderich since it opened. Many of the professional junior players that train with them will be playing Thursday night. He says it's always a fun event and credits the staff at the Y and the volunteers involved in the event, as well as the players, for putting on a great show.

He says the players that have participated in the event so far have had a great time and they look forward to coming back. O'Reilly adds the pace of the game picked up a little last year and he expects that to continue this year and that makes it a lot more fun for the players and the fans. The 3rd annual Hometown Heroes Charity Hockey Games gets underway at the Maitland Rec. Centre in Goderich at 7:00 this Thursday night.

The goal for this year's third Hometown Heroes event is to raise $50,000 dollars for the Goderich-Huron YMCA’s Strong Kids program, the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health and the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital.
