Burn Ban Lifted in Huron County; Lucknow

Huron County residents can once again enjoy a campfire.

Huron County Fire Chiefs announced this morning the burn ban that's been in effect since mid-July is now lifted.

In a release this morning the chiefs credit Saturday's rain and the Canadian Wildland Fire Information, Fire Danger Rating at Low.

The release goes on to say "As per the 2015 Ontario Fire Code, Section 2.4.4.4 (1) Open air burning shall not take place unless; (a) It has been approved or (b) The open air burning consists of a small, confined fire that is

(i) Used to cook food on a grill, barbecue or spit

      (ii) Commensurate with the type and quantity of food being cooked, and

      (iii) Supervised at all times

Lucknow's fire chief is lifting the burn ban for the Lucknow Fire Service coverage area.

That includes the village of Lucknow and the townships of Kinloss, West Wawanosh and Ashfield.
