Ryan Ives, who was 19 at the start of the investigation, was charged with manslaughter following the death of 79-year-old Joan Dinsmore in April of last year.
The court heard emergency responders who were called to the scene found three injured people.
Two of them had minor injuries but the third person, Dinsmore, died of her injuries.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
