About 100 members of the Bluewater Shoreline Residents Association attended their annual general meeting in St. Joseph on Saturday.
The guest speaker was Geoff Cade, a Supervisor with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.
Members are concerned about how the ABCA's new Shoreline Management Plan will impact their ability to protect their shoreline properties from erosion.
Association President Sue Haskett says the draft of the Plan will be posted on the ABCA web site on September 1st, and they'll post it on the Association web site as well as soon it becomes available. She is urging all of their members to take advantage of the 90-day public comment period.
Hackett adds some people insist what they do to protect their property will have no impact on their neighbours, but she knows of situations where attempts to protect one property have increased the risk of erosion on neighbouring properties, and have resulted in lawsuits.
