Trillium Grant Lights Up Clinton Ball Diamonds

Participants in a celebration at the Clinton Baseball Diamonds saw the lights last night.

Local politicians and members of the Clinton Minor Baseball Association gathered to officially cut the ribbon on the new field lights.

The project was funded by a $52,200 grant to Central Huron from the Ontario Trillium Foundation last year.

The Clinton Minor Ball Association donated $20,000 to the project.

The association has seen a 40% growth in registrations, so the new lights will mean extended playing times and allow for additional teams.

“Baseball is a great activity that brings a community together, both on and off the field. Whether you’re a spectator or a member of a team, the installation of new field lights at the Clinton Baseball Diamond is a great investment and will light the way for future generations of ballplayers,” says Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce.
