Over 500 ceramic poppies are now on display in front of the Cenotaph on the Courthouse Park in Goderich.
Over 100 Goderich residents and dignitaries took part in a special ceremony Thursday afternoon to recognize the sacrifices made by men and women from Huron County.
It's to mark the 100th anniversary of the deployment of the 161st Battalion of Huron in the First World War.
Claire Carter is the Business Development Manager of the Museum and was the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
She explains they realized about a year and a half ago the significance of the event and found over 100 volunteers who learned how to make ceramic poppies.
The poppies will remain in front of the Cenotaph in Goderich until early November, at which time they'll be distributed to the various legions throughout Huron County in time for Remembrance Day services.
