Perth County residents are being asked to share some information about food.
The Perth District Health Unit and the Perth County Food Security Coalition are hosting a survey to find out more about where people buy food; what’s important when choosing what to eat; and what challenges people face in feeding themselves and their families.
The survey is the first component of a community food assessment. The final assessment will look at a broad range of food-related areas, including agriculture, food access, local food, and food waste.
The survey is open to Perth County residents over the age of 18, and the deadline to complete the survey is Monday, November 7.
To enter the survey, and a draw for a $50 gift card, go to: http://www.pdhu.on.ca/foodsurvey.
"Our aim is to have a better understanding of our local food system, including everything involved in getting food to people," explains Public Health Dietitian Natalee Ridgeway. "We want to find out what we’re doing well, and to identify the gaps and food-related issues people are faced with here in Perth County. The survey is a way for community members to add their voice to the food conversation."
