North Perth Not Affiliated With Private Water Testing Offers

North Perth Manager of Environmental Services, Mark Hackett, says residents don't need to worry about their quality of water.

Some residents have told the Municipality a private company is offering water analysis tests.

"We've had a couple comments from residents about some door-to-door about people going around asking to treat their water at their private residences, and they're asking if it has anything to do with the Municipality. That's where we are at this point. We are not involved with this private company offer, and don't support it, as we regularly test the water here."

Hackett says people can decide for themselves if they want private tests done, but the Municipality does all the required testing based on provincial regulations.

"We follow provincial regulations that dictates the sampling required. We do some weekly, some quarterly, and other ones annually. We have never had a concern about the quality of the water here in North Perth. Ultimately, if individuals want further testing done, that's up to them, but this current door-to-door offering is not in partnership with the Municipality."
