Giving Tuesday Launches A Season Of Sharing

A couple of local organizations are hoping to capitalize on the Giving Tuesday movement. The intent is to mark to opening day of the giving season, just as Black Friday launches the holiday season. The Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce hopes to raise funds to help people affected by mental health issues face the sometimes overwhelming challenge of the holidays.

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation says there has been outstanding community support for hospital redevelopment, but the needs of a thriving hospital never end, and upgrading vital medical equipment is urgent. Funds raised will help buy a Urine Analyzer machine and a Hi-Lo Bed. The global event is driven by communities, businesses and charities around the world. From coast to coast to coast, people are embracing this day as an opportunity to raise money for local charities and non-profits, encourage kindness, help a neighbour and celebrate generosity. You can donate to the CMHA Grey Bruce at https://www.canadahelps.org/giv3/39348

Those interested in making a gift to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation on Giving Tuesday can visit www.wdhfoundation.ca. Community members are encouraged to share their donations and feel-good stories about the Hospital on the Wingham District Hospital Facebook page using #GivingTuesdayCA and #HealthyHospitalWingham.
