The Bluewater District School Board is mourning the passing of Trustee Linda Hamill of Meaford.
The former teacher, school volunteer and children's author passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her husband early Sunday morning.
Hamill was in her 69th year.
She was elected as trustee for Meaford Blue Mountains in 2014, and recently helped ensure a sustainable future for education in meaford with the establisment of a new K-12 schools
Board Chair Ron Motz called Linda a wonderful advocate for students. he says they will miss her wise counsel, sense of humour and positive spirit.
