North Perth Seeks Public Input For Parks And Rec Plan

North Perth is reaching out to residents for feedback as they begin putting together their Parks and Rec Services Master Plan.

Steve Langlois, the principal planner for Monteith Brown Planning Consultants, says there are surveys available to the public where they can voice their opinions on the plan.

"A very wide net we're casting in terms of trying to speak with all types of organizations relative to recreation, parks, culture and trails. A number of different surveys, and we're starting to crunch the numbers on that," he says.

The survey is available on the North Perth website, and hard copies can be obtained at the municipal office in Listowel as well. Langlois says a Parks and Rec Master Plan covers much more than just arenas and parks.

"With this being a ten-year plan, it's not like an official plan, it doesn't need formal amendment, but it's a guideline for council, it's a guideline for staff and the community that identifies priorities for not just the big things like arenas, although we will be speaking to perhaps, a second phase of infrastructure development," he says.

Langlois says it’s important for municipalities to have the plan as a guideline to deliver the best possible service that the community wants.
