The Perth-Huron United Way conducted its sixth annual Caravan of Hope Campaign on Thursday.
It was the fourth Caravan sponsored by Scotiabank and the United Way bus made a stop at every Scotiabank branch in Perth and Huron as part of the campaign.
United Way Chair Andrew Williams says the theme of this year's Caravan of Hope is "youth." Williams says people tend to underestimate some of the problems young people in communities face, starting with homelessness, but they also tend to underestimate the value of young people in the community in helping other young people deal with those problems.
Williams says young people often play a pivotal role in helping other young people. Williams adds that young people tend to respond very positively when they're given a little help, and he says people of all ages need and deserve to be respected.
