McNiven Solid in Net at World Junior Selection Camp

Michael McNiven stopped all 14 shots he faced in Team Canada's 8-0 victory over the Czech Republic in an exhibition game at the World Junior Selection Camp.

The Owen Sound Attack netminder took over for Connor Ingram after the first period.

Despite his spectacular performance, McNiven did not make the final 22 man roster. Ingram and Carter Hart will be representing Canada between the pipes at the World Junior Hockey Championship later this month.

OHLers who did make the team include Oshawa Generals' forward Anthony Cirelli, Mississauga's Michael McLeod, the Erie Otters' Taylor Raddysh, Blake Speers from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, and the Otters' Dylan Strome.
