UPDATE: Snow Squalls In Store For Midwestern Ontario

Much of the snow in the region may have recently melted, but more snowfall is expected across Midwestern Ontario.

Lake effect flurries and snow squalls are expected to form late Thursday afternoon and move across the region in the evening.  The wind will shift to the west-northwest, with very strong gusts at times.

The snow squalls are forecast to persist through Friday in some areas.  Snowfall amounts of 10-15 cm are possible under the heaviest bands.

Poor driving conditions are expected Thursday night and Friday due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Environment Canada issued a snow squall warning for Bruce, Grey, Northern Huron, Northern Wellington counties. A snow squall watch remains in effect for the rest of Huron and Perth counties.
