There is a flood warning in the Port Franks area south of the Pinery Provincial Park.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says the warm temperatures over the past week have left flows in the Ausable River very high.
Ice is intact near the mouth of the river, and there is a strong onshore wind to complicate matters.
There are some ice jams in the Port Franks area, such as Patrick St. and Hwy. 21, and flooding has affected several properties upstream.
Increased river flows are expected throughout the day. Ice can break and shift, causing flooding in other areas, or causing property damage.
Water levels can quickly rise behind an ice jam in a very short period of time.
