OHL Wrap-Up: Attack Win 13th Consecutive Game

Ethan Szypula scored the game winner 46 seconds into the second period to give the Owen Sound Attack their 13th win in a row, a 6-2 victory over Sarnia.

Newly minted Attack centre Cordell James earned first star honours with a goal and two assists including setting up Szypula for the game winning goal.

Markus Phillips scored back-to-back 46 seconds apart in the first to give the Attack a 2-0 lead.

The Sting wouldn't make it on the board until midway through the middle frame when Troy Lajeunesse scored assisted by Jordan Kyrou and Connor Schlichting.

Petrus Palmu added insurance for the Attack with 91 seconds remaining in the second. James goal came on the power play 34 seconds later to give Owen Sound a 5-1 lead heading into the thrid.

Drake Rymsha scored the Sting's second goal of the game at 7:42 of the final period. Owen Sound's Makim Susko slid one by Justin Fazio midway through the third to make it 6-2.

Michael McNiven made 29 saves in the victory. Fazio stopped 30 shots for the Sting.

The Attack are now in third place in the Midwest with 59 points. London leads the division with 61 points.

The longest win streak in the OHL still belongs to the Kitchener Rangers who won 25 games in a row back in 1984.

London 4 Saginaw 3

Dante Salituro scored the game winner with four minutes and 38 seconds left in the third as the London Knights edged the Saginaw Spirit 4-3.

Sam Miletic, Cliff Pu and Evan Bouchard also scored for the Knights.

JJ Piccinich had two assists in the win.

Rookie netminder Jordan Kooy earned the win with 26 saves for London. Evan Cormier stopped 29 shots for the Spirit.
