Winterhawks Win to Take Sole Possession of 3rd Place

Matt MacKay scored the game winner on the power play just past the midway point in the third as the Cambridge Winterhawks edged the Kitchener Dutchmen 5-4.

Tyler Harrison led the Winterhawks offence with a pair of goals and an assist. Ryan Shaw also picked up three points with a goal and two helpers.

The Dutchmen were led by Ashton Stockie with a pair of goals. Ben Morris scored and added an assist and Connor Cole and Adam Kawalec each had a pair of assists in the loss.

The Winterhawks were 3-5 on the power play and the Dutchmen were 2-5.

Max Wright earned the win with 21 saves. Jackson McIntosh stopped 23 shots for the Dutchmen.

Cambridge now has sole possession of third place in the Midwest with 54 points. The Dutchmen are two points back in fourth.
