Mitchell Defeats Walkerton

Derek Elliot struck twice in the first period as the Mitchell Hawks went on to beat Walkerton 7-4.

Mitchell was 4-7 on the power play including Elliot's first goal of the game.  Drew Gross' unassisted, shorthanded goal at 9:51 of the second stood as the game winner.

Gross added insurance less than three minutes later with a power play goal assisted by Chace Duckworth. McKenzie Carter extended Mitchell's lead at 2:09 of the third, assisted by Nick Jung and Gross.

Wyatt Nicholson earned the win with 27 saves. Ryan Winter stopped 19 of 25 shots before begin replaced by Kallen Macumber who stopped four of five shots in relief.
