Sewer Service Questioned For New Homes In Mount Forest

Wellington North council wants more time to consider a proposal to put ten new homes in Mount Forest on individual sewage pumps.

Developer Brad Wilson wants to build the homes at the east end of Durham St., but the property is too low to be serviced easily by gravity-fed sanitary sewers.

Mount Forest’s Master Plan for sewer services calls for the property to be serviced by gravity lines on London Rd.

Mayor Andy Lennox says the decision is not easy because the proposal would put much of the cost of the sewers onto the developer, not the taxpayer.

Council will makes its decision at its next meeting March 13.
