Cyclones and Sugar Kings One Win from Advancing To Semis

Listowel 7 Brantford 1

Chayse Herrfort struck twice and set up another as the Listowel Cyclones defeated Brantford 7-1 to take a 3-0 lead in their GOJHL Conference Quarter Final.

The Cyclones out shot the 99ers 43-27.

Tommy Hoogars put the Cyclones on the board early, scoring at 2:34 of the first period. Jakob Lee found the back of the net 36 seconds later. Kyle Walker scored for Brantford with just 16 seconds left in the opening frame and that would be all the offense the 99ers would generate.

Chayse Herrfort got things started 49 seconds into the second period. Holdyn Lansink scored on the power play midway through the frame and Cullen Mercer put the Cyclones up 5-1 with just over two minutes left in the period.

Herrfort scored his second goal of the game on the power play four minutes into the third. Keaton Willis scored just over four minutes later to give the Cyclones a final tally of 7-1.

Holdyn Lansink scored and had two assists in the victory. Blake Nichol and Ben VanOoteghem each picked up two points with a pair of assists.

Brock Baier turned aside 26 shots for Listowel. Aidan Link made 36 saves for the 99ers.

Listowel could advance to the Conference Semifinal with a victory in Brantford Thursday night.

Elmira 6 Guelph 2

Ethan Skinner scored a natural hat trick in the third period as the Elmira Sugar Kings defeated Guelph 6-2 for a 3-0 lead in their GOJHL Conference Quarter Final

Skinner also assisted on Jake Brown's goal at 10:17 of the first period and Mitch Hoelscher's goal at 13:40 of the third.

The Sugar Kings were 1-6 on the power play.

Jonathan Reinhart stopped 32 shots in the win. Jacob Hutchings allowed all six goals on 31 shots in net for the Hurricanes.

The Sugar Kings could advance to the semifinal with a win in Guelph Tuesday night.

Kitchener 3 Stratford 2

Justin Graham forced extra time, scoring at 17:53 of the third but the Stratford Warriors couldn't score in overtime and lost 3-2 to Kitchener.

The Dutchmen's Jordan White had the game winner at 5:16 of the extra frame.

Justin Graham scored both of the Warriors goals.

Austin Gaboury and Michael Alberga rounded out the Dutchmen's offense.

Jackson McIntosh earned the win with a 38 save performance. Rock Boynton stopped 43 shots for the Warriors.

The Dutchmen now lead the GOJHL Conference Quarter Final 2-1. Game 4 goes  Tuesday night in Kitchener.
