UPDATE: Special Weather Statement For Midwestern Ontario

Updated at 5:25am on Monday, March 13:

Parts of Midwestern Ontario may be spared from a winter storm that is now tracking further south.

A special weather statement has ended for Grey and southern areas of Bruce County.

However, Perth County, southern areas for Huron County and northern areas of Wellington are still under a special weather statement.

Environment Canada shows the system moving into the region through Monday with heavier snowfall amounts Monday night into Tuesday.

Environment Canada's forecast shows the Colorado low tracking over the Great Lakes and merging with an east coast storm. The track is to the south along the Hwy. 401 corridor and more towards the Niagara region. High winds will also be an issue which could cause blowing snow in those regions.

Drivers may want to be aware of changing conditions if travelling south through London towards Sarnia and Windsor, or to the east towards the Greater Toronto Area or Niagara region.

There will be some snow falling in midwestern Ontario over the next 48 hours.
