MVCA Planting More Trees To Offset Carbon Footprint

The Board of Directors of for the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority has adopted the authority's strategy for addressing its carbon footprint for this year.

General Manager Phil Beard says part of the strategy involves planting 314 trees at Lake Wawanosh to offset the amount of carbon they emitted last year.

Beard adds they're also replacing one of their cars with an all-electric vehicle this year. They are looking at purchasing a Chevy Volt to replace one of their older vehicles.

The MVCA partnered with North Perth, Ideal Supply, Molesworth Farm Supply, Trillium Mutual Insurance, Pioneer in Wingham and Keeso Lumber out of Listowel on a Carbon Footprint Initiative last October.
