UPDATE: Long-Term Care Review Back At Grey County Table

Update as of 11:50am

Grey County committee has voted in favour of amalgamating long-term care homes in Durham and Markdale into one facility in Durham.

Grey Gables will close in Markdale and a new facility will be built in Durham.

Grey County's review of long term care is back at the table this morning.

Among today's committee-of-the-whole agenda items there are two motions.

The first is to direct staff to prepare a request for proposal to hire a management company for the planning of a new amalgamated facility to be located in Durham and operational by 2025. And to prepare a project plan to support a sale of Grey Gables in Markdale as a retirement/assisted living facility.

That discussion was deferred from the May 11 meeting.

The other motion is to receive a report regarding long term care as information.

Grey County committee meets at 9am in Owen Sound.
