Police Seek Beer Bandits In Exeter

Police are looking for suspects after over $1,000 worth of beer and hamburger patties were stolen from a local baseball team in Exeter.

The Ontario Provincial Police say this past weekend, the baseball team was running a tournament at the South Huron Recreation Centre, in an effort to raise money for their upcoming season.  However, someone broke into a locked storage trailer sometime on Sunday between 2:30am and 3am, and stole a great deal of food and beverages from the team.

Around 30 cases of Bud Light (around 840 bottles), along with several pounds of hamburger patties, two bottles of rum and one bottle of vodka were stolen. The theft was discovered when the team returned Sunday morning.

Police say two suspicious males were seen in the area around that time. One of them was walking with crutches.

Any person with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Huron County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 524-8314. Anonymous callers may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
