Police have located the body of a missing man whose canoe capsized in Georgian Bay, near Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Last Thursday afternoon, emergency crews responded to the area near the Grotto after two men in the canoe were thrown into the water.

One of the men, a 25-year-old from Windsor, was able to swim to shore. He was treated in hospital for hypothermia and has since been released.

After an extensive search conducted by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, the Bruce Peninsula OPP Marine Unit and Bruce Peninsula National Park wardens, the body of 22-year-old Bennett Zeller of Queensland, Australia was located at around 5pm on Monday.
