Minto Mayor Re-Elected To FCM National Board

Town of Minto Mayor George Bridge has been re-elected to the national Board of Directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

Bridge is one of only 16 members representing the Ontario Caucus.  His re-election to the board for the 2017-2018 term came on the weekend at the federation's meeting in Ottawa.

The board of directors is made up of elected municipal officials and affiliate members from all regions and communities across Canada.

George Bridge has served the Town of Minto and Wellington County since 2010, and was warden for 2015-16.

"It is a tremendous honour to be re-elected to the FCM National Board of Directors by my Ontario peers," says Bridge. "I am proud to continue to be an advocate for Ontario and Wellington County. I look forward to working directly with other leaders from across the country on important municipal issues."

The board meets quarterly to discuss key municipal issues, set policy priorities, and serve as a support system for municipalities bringing forward their messages to the Government of Canada.
