North Stars Lose to First Ranked Rivermen

The Owen Sound North Stars narrowly lost the first ranked team in Senior B Lacrosse yesterday, falling 11-10 to the Six Nations Rivermen.

The North Stars were leading 2-1 after the first and the game was tied 8-8 after the second.

The Rivermen scored with 26 seconds left in the game to win it 11-10.

The North Stars were led by Colin Mawdsley with four goals and two assists. Zac Coulter struck twice and set up another for Owen Sound. Kyle Childerhose scored and had two assists in the loss.

Drew Quinnlin, Kenney Coulson, Zach Tomkinson also scored for the North Stars who are 3-4 on the season.

Earlier in the weekend, Owen Sound defeated the Brooklin Merchants 7-5.

Brett Kloepfer led the North Stars with four points including a goal and three assists.

They are back in action Friday, June 9th when they host the KW Velocity.
