Brockton council has approved a contractor to begin renovations at the municipal office in Walkerton.
CAO Deb Roth says a number of changes will be made during the renovation.
"The council chambers will be upgraded to create two new offices -- an open workspace and a committee room. We will be providing some walled office space for some HR staff as well," she says.
The work will cost just shy of $17,000.
Roth says council will have a temporary home starting June 26.
"Council will move on to the county council chambers, and I think they will be comfortable there," she says. "The municipal services review recommended shared spaces, and that's what we're doing."
