Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance Finances Improve

The C-E-O of the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance says the new funding for hospitals announced in the recent Provincial budget will help address some of their expenses.

Andrew Williams says the Clinton, Seaforth and St. Marys hospitals will each get an extra two per cent and the Stratford General hospital will get an additional 2.5 per cent.

Williams explains their costs are growing by two to three per cent a year so the additional funding will help address that.

Williams adds they expect they'll need 44-million dollars over the next four years for capital expenses for either facilities or equipment, so the addition funding won't allow them to expand but will allow them to stabilize their situation over the next few years.
