Suspicious Man Approached Teen Girls In Goderich

Huron County OPP are investigating an incident between a suspicious man and two teenaged girls in Goderich over the weekend.

Police say an older male followed two 16-year-old girls near Maitland Road North and Nelson Street East at about 6:30 pm Saturday

The man then approached the teens and asked if they would like to have sex. When told no, he pushed one of the girls. They both screamed and ran for help.

The man was last seen on foot heading northwest.

Police were called and conducted extensive patrols in the area, but did not locate a suspect.

Police say the man is described as white, about 60-years-old, and about 5'7".

He has short grey hair, a scruffy beard, and a noticeable limp.

Police say he was wearing an oversized orange sweater, and spoke in a quiet, muffled voice.

Huron OPP is reminding the public to always practice personal safety tips.

Walk with a friend or a group whenever possible, avoid isolated areas, walk in well-lit areas and carry a cell phone if you have one. It's always a good idea to tell others where you are walking and when you are expecting to arrive at your destination.

If you are approached by an unknown person and you fear for your safety, draw attention to your area by yelling, screaming or anything you can do to get the attention of others.
