The MP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound promises to fight the Liberals' attempt to bring back a long gun registry.
Conservative Firearms Critic Larry Miller is demanding the government destroy any information on law-abiding firearms owners that was collected under the now scrapped long gun registry.
Miller says the government will introduce a bill within a week called "An Act to amend the Ending the Long gun Registry Act."
He says there are no details yet, but the new bill is said to use information collected under the scrapped registry, for government purposes.
"The previous Conservative government heard Canadians loud and clear, and scrapped the wasteful long gun registry," said Miller. "Now the Liberals are trying to open the door to something new. I will fight against any effort to bring back a long gun registry, and I demand that the Liberals destroy and and all remaining information on law-abiding firearms owners collected under the now scrapped registry."
