Listowel's Corey Conners is back on the Web.com Tour, just days after qualifying for the U.S. Open.
Conners finished his first round at the Rust-Oleum Championship in Ivanhoe, Illinois at 2-under 70 and is tied for 30th.
Conners birdied the 5th, 9th, 13th, 15th and 16th holes but struggled on the 4th, 11th, and 17th, carding a bogey on all three.
The 25-year-old has slipped from the top 25 on the Web.com Tour's money list and is now ranked 32nd with $60, 378 in total winnings and two top 10 finishes.
American Brice Garnett is alone atop the leaderboard at 7-under 65 at the Rust-Oleum Championship. Ben Silverman is the low Canadian tied for second place with two other golfers at 6-under 66.
