Mitchell native Jean Morris was awarded Senior of the Year for West Perth at council last night.
Morris has been volunteering with local 4H clubs for over 35 years. She's also heavily involved with her local church group, the Mitchell Fair, and many other local committees. She was also involved in putting together the Fullarton history book, the Pioneer Hobby Club, and has collected for the Canadian Cancer Society, as well.
Morris was presented a plaque by West Perth Mayor Walter McKenzie, and spoke about her love for West Perth.
"I think this is a most wonderful place to live, and I'm thankful for this. I appreciate all the work council does to make West Perth the best place to live, in my opinion."
