The curtain goes up on "Kingsbridge, the Musical" Thursday night.
It's written and directed by Warren Robinson, of Celtic Festival Fame, along with his wife Eleanor. Mike Reynolds is credited for creating the music.
Jennifer Miltenburg says they interviewed seniors about life in the community in the 1950s and 60s, and Robinson wrote the play from there, basing some characters on actual residents at the time and others on a compilation of people.
This is the first major production for the Kingsbridge Community Centre.
Miltenburg explains the conversion from the old Catholic church to the community centre has been a galvanizing force in the community, and represents the work of more than 300 volunteers.
"Kingsbridge, the Musical" opens Thursday night at 8pm, with shows on Friday and Saturday nights, also at 8pm, and a matinee at 2pm on Sunday.
Tickets are available at the door for $20 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for young people under the age of 12.
