Huron County's Local Immigration Partnership is getting a boost from Ottawa.
Project Manager Kristin Crane has received word that Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada is going to start funding Settlement Services in Huron County.
Crane explains the YMCA of Western Ontario will be providing the services on an as-needed basis.
The Settlement Services will provide things like social services, housing, paperwork, helping to register kids for school, or anything else a person would need to re-locate in Huron County.
Crane says it will also provide newcomers with a place to go, and that will allow the Immigration Partnership to track newcomers and their needs.
They are hoping the settlement services will be available by September.
