The second of two public meetings on the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority's Shoreline Management Plan will be held Saturday in Thedford.
Water and Planning Supervisor Geoff Cade says about 170 people attended the first meeting in Zurich a couple of weeks ago, and they seemed generally pleased with the information received at the meeting. Cade says that information was largely technical and dealt with things like climate change and the shoreline process, as well as information on shoreline structure.
He says the meeting Saturday will be very similar and will not include policy discussion, which will be dealt with later.
Cade admits there was some misunderstanding when the consultants report was released and it wasn't emphasized enough that the recommendations in that report were in fact just recommendations. He says the public meetings seem to be clearing that up and property owners are no longer assuming the worst.
Saturday's meeting runs from 9am until noon at the Legacy Recreation Centre Hall on Allen St.
