An 81-year-old man has died following a single vehicle crash in Meaford.
The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 1:30pm, a Toyota Yaris was traveling east on Grey Rd. 18 when it crossed the westbound lane and crash into a north ditch. The driver then got out of his vehicle and returned to the road where he was helped by a passing motorist.
The driver of the Toyota, 81-year old Joseph Edward Bell of Meaford, went into medical distress after the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday in Owen Sound.
Grey Rd. 18 from Grey Rd. 29, east to Gerald Shortt Pkwy. was closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
