Huron County is losing its CAO.
Brenda Orchard announced at Wednesday's council meeting that her last day with Huron County will be the August 2 meeting.
Orchard came to Huron County as the CAO in January of 2013, but explained to council that she has a relationship with someone in Kingston and has been commuting on weekends for more than two years now. She has a new job waiting for her as CAO in Lennox and Addington in Eastern Ontario.
She said it was a privilege to work with the best council she had ever seen but she felt it was necessary to restore some balance to her life.
Council has appointed a team of four councillors to choose an interim CAO and then begin the search for a permanent one.
