Two Local Athletes Competing At Summer Games

Two local track and field athletes are competing for Ontario at the Canada Summer Games.

Mildmay's Tony Elliott who trains with the Saugeen Track and Field Club is competing in the Men's Hammer Throw.

Fullarton's Emily Branderhorst is competing in Women's High Jump.

Elliott was an automatic selection after he won the gold medal in Hammer Throw at the Athletics Ontario Track and Field Championships in Windsor last month.

Branderhorst was selected from a pool of second place athletes based on her personal best performance of 1.70 m at the meet.

The Canada Summer Games begin July 31 in Winnipeg.
