A Central Huron man appears in court Thursday in Goderich after an incident in Huron East.
OPP officers received information about the possible whereabouts of a wanted male.
Police responded to a North Line residence Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to make contact with the man who was believed to be in the residence. Their attempts were not successful, so officers set up containment on the property and waited for the arrival of specialized units.
Armed with an entry warrant, members from the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit entered the residence around 9pm and found the male hiding in the residence. He was taken into custody without incident.
Shawn Elliott, 41, from Central Huron is facing changes of failing to comply with a probation order and breach of recognizance.
