Prime Minister Justin Trudeau helped put school supplies in backpacks on Friday at the Salvation Army in Goderich.
Trudeau says he wants to see all kids have the same chance to succeed.
"Being there for each other, is something really important for us, because we know if we are going to succeed as a country, everyone has to have that chance. And your generosity, your kindness, your efforts with your involvement is truly the best of this community," says Trudeau.
Trudeau worked the crowd as hundreds gathered to meet him holding babies and taking selfies.
Trudeau is scheduled to visit the Stratford Festival later Friday afternoon.
