It's a nervous week for members of the Goderich committee involved in the Kraft-Heinz Project Play contest.
They have to wait until Saturday to find out if their entry in the contest got enough public online votes to win the $250,000 grand prize.
There were voting stations all around Goderich Friday and Saturday, at various businesses, and at the Maitland Rec Centre. Several people hosted voting parties in their homes.
Spokesperson Steve Hewitt says there's no way of knowing how the voting went in Bible Hill Nova Scotia, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Brandon, Manitoba. They were monitoring social media activity in those communities and comparing that to Goderich, but Hewitt admits that doesn't provide an accurate assessment.
The grand prize winner will be announced on TSN Saturday.
"One of the things that has really come out of all of this process is how the spirit of the community came to the forefront and how so many different people came together for a common goal and it was a great thing to see," says Hewitt.
