The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula hosted another open house Tuesday about the controversial planned comprehensive zoning bylaw.
Local property owner and real estate Broker Kathy Dimaline is leading the opposition, with hundreds of property owners showing up at the last open house in late September.
She says so many people came out to the community centre in Lions Head that about 250 taxpayers were turned away, though many took days off work or drove for hours to get there.
She explains that could affect the ability to build, resale value, mortgages or insurance.
Dimaline adds she is hearing from hundreds of upset residents who were counting on their property value for retirement living.
“The taxpayers of Northern Bruce Peninsula need to be informed of what this proposed new bylaw entails, and how this will impact each and every one of us, and future generations,” said Dimaline.
The Mayor and council members are reconsidering some of the recommendations but there is no word on when a final decision will be made.
