Help Paint Perth-Huron Towns Red

United Way Perth-Huron is asking businesses in the two counties to change their decor slightly.

The Paint the Town Red initiative is scheduled for November 24-26.

It's designed to promote local shopping, while building awareness and raising money for their annual campaign.

It started in 2016 as an alternative to the rush of large-scale Black Friday sales.  Each participating business chooses a unique donation approach -- from special features to a percentage of sales going to United Way Perth-Huron.

Thirty six businesses took part last year, and quite a few in Stratford and Listowel have already registered for this year.

"It’s exciting that Paint the Town Red is happening again," says Tami Stratton, North Perth Community Committee member and owner of Diana Sweets in Listowel. "United Way helps support so many programs and services in our community. They’ve positively affected so many people’s lives, including my family. I’m looking forward to giving back through my business."

United Way Perth-Huron supports almost 50 organizations and services across Perth and Huron counties.

To donate to the United Way to support these local services, call 519-271-7730 or 1-877-818-8867, mail to 32 Erie Street, Stratford, ON N5A 2M4 or visit perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
