PJHL Wrap-up: Hawks, Ironmen and Bulldogs Earn Wins

Walkerton 14 Hanover 2

Gary Mantz had a hat trick and two assists to lead the Walkerton Hawks to a 14-2 win over Hanover.

Braden Boley had a goal and three assists in the win and Quinton Maddock struck twice and set up another to earn three points.

Ryan Shaw, Justin Donnelly, and Brendan Welsh all earned three points each with a goal and two assists.

Mathew Donnelly made 17 saves in the win. Zack Girdler allowed 5 goals on 19 shots and shared the goal tending duties with Kieran Chittick who allowed 9 goals on 25 shots.

Walkerton still trails the Mount Forest Patriots by two points for the Pollock Division lead.

Wingham 5 Goderich 4 (OT)

The Goderich Flyers held a 2-0 lead midway through the second before the Wingham Ironmen came alive and beat the Flyers 5-4 in overtime.

Jamie Huber had the OT winner for the Ironmen on the power play just 52 seconds into the final frame. It was Huber's second goal of the game.

Rhys Vollmer set up three of the Ironmen's goal including both of Huber's goals.

The Flyers were led by Mitch Fisher with a goal and an assist. Brad Watson set up two of the Flyers goals.

Jamie Brock earned the win for Wingham with 23 saves. Kevin Linker took the loss for Goderich with 31 saves.

Kincardine 5 Mount Forest 1

The Kincardine Bulldogs beat the Pollock Division leading Mount Forest Patriots 5-1.

Justin Marlowe opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the final 25 seconds of the first period.

Mike Feigehen put the Bulldogs up 2-0 with a goal assisted by Logan Freiburger 37 seconds into the second period. Brett Burrows extended the Bulldogs lead at 5:49.

Derick Acheson put the Patriots on the board at 12:17 of the second. Kincardine's Trevor Donaldson scored unassisted at 14:56 of the second to make it 4-1 heading into the third.

Robert White was the only player to score in the final frame, beating Aidan Quish with less than 90 seconds left to play. Quish made 37 saves in a valiant effort for the Patriots. Craig Luinstra earned the win for Kincardine with 26 saves.

Mt. Brydges 2 Exeter 1 (OT)

Tanner LaFrance scored the game winner at 4:45 of overtime to give the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs a 2-1 win over Exeter. The Bulldogs were out shot 81-27.

Adam Gibb opened the scoring for Exter at 4:40 of the first assisted by Justin McCarter and Evan Hayter. Alex Cox put the Bulldogs on the board at 3:15 of the second assisted by LaFrance and  Patrick Green.

Ryan Hopkins assisted on LaFrance's game winner.

Logan Vermunt stopped 80 shots for Mt Brydges. Nathan Young made 25 saves for Exeter. Vermunt is ranked 5th among Yeck Division goalies with a .937 save percentage and 2.92 GAA.
