Youth Charged After Threats To 'Shoot Up' Restaurant

A 14-year-old boy from Saugeen First Nation is charged after threats were made to "shoot up" a restaurant.

Police received a call Sunday from an employee at a restaurant on highways 6 and 21 on the Sunset Strip, reporting that an unknown male had threatened the restaurant.

A suspect was identified, and police determined the youth did not have access to firearms.

Monday afternoon, the youth, accompanied by a parent, surrendered at the Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment. He was charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and mischief.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Youth Justice Court in Owen Sound on February 6.
