Warriors Hold Off Sugar Kings

The Stratford Warriors got goals from six different players and were 3-7 on the power play in their 6-5 win over Elmira.

Kaleb Pearson's goal at 7:15 of the third would stand as the game winner. Braydon Munn put the Sugar Kings to within a point with 51 seconds left but Elmira couldn't score the equalizer.

The Sugar Kings were leading 1-0 after the first thanks to a power play goal by Ethan Skinner.

Curtis Abbott put the Warriors on the board just under two minutes into the second. Zack Cameron gave the Sugar Kings the lead again at 4:57 but it would be short lived. Callan Christner scored just 28 seconds later. Hugh Anderson put the Warriors ahead at 11:16 of the second and Graham Brulotte extended that lead at 16:38. Matt MacKay put the Sugar Kings within a point with 15 seconds left in the frame.

In the third, Sean Ross and person would score in the first half of the period to put the Warriors up 6-3. Marcel Berube scored with just over five minutes left for Elmira and Munn gave the Sugar Kings a chance to tie the game at 19:09.

Ryan Nicholson set up three of the Warriors goals. Pearson, Ross, Abbott, Anderson and Brulotte all scored and added helpers for Stratford.

The Sugar Kings were led by Munn with a goal and two assists. Ty Biles assisted on three of Elmira's goals.

Andrew Vigliatore stopped 40 shots to give the Warriors the win. Tyler Mazzocato made 21 saves for Elmira.
