Huron Bruce MPP Ready To Help PC Party Shape Up

The MPP For Huron Bruce feels humbled by her selection as Ontario Progressive Conservative Party Caucus chair.

Lisa Thompson says she is prepared to jump into her new role to ensure the party is in tip-top shape when a new leader is chosen March 24.

Thompson says there are clearly issues that need to be addressed, and she will take her responsibility to help "root out the rot" very seriously.

She says one of the first problems is their IT situation after their system was hacked November 1, 2017.

"In any nomination race... memberships are very very important and so we are looking into launching a full review of the party's IT and fibre security, and we will be looking at our memberships as well," she says.

Thompson says they will also find the best examples of harassment policies, and ensure they fit for Queen's Park.

She says no one of any age should tolerate or fear harassment or abuse, and she adds the party needs to be better.

She wants protective and supportive policies for MPP's, staff, stakeholders, and constituents.

Thomspon adds despite her new responsibility, she will work hard to ensure the people of Huron Bruce remain her number one priority.
