Alan Lyszczarczyk struck twice to give the Owen Sound Attack a 5-4 win over London in Game 1 of their first round OHL playoff series.
Maksim Sushko netted the game winner less than three minutes into the third.
The Knights were first on the board, scoring less than two-and-a-half minutes into the game. Lyszczarczyk answered for Owen Sound with a power play goal four minutes into the opening frame and Kevin Hancock scored with the man advantage at 7:31 to give the Attack a 2-1 lead. Alex Formenton scored the first of two power play goals for the Knights to tie the game about a minute and a half later. Lyszczarczyk's second goal of the game late in the first would make it 3-2 Owen Sound heading into the second.
The two teams would continue to trade goals with Suzuki scoring about three minutes into the middle frame only to see London score a pair of goals before the halfway point to tie the game.
Olivier Lafrenière earned the win with 22 saves. Joseph Raaymakers stopped 38 shots for the Knights.
Game 2 is Saturday night in London. The series shifts to Owen Sound on Monday.
